My Portfolio

About me

I am an undergrad in Singapore who has a strong interest in finance and investing. I spend a significant amount of time reading financial blogs and books to educate myself and increase my own financial literacy. I believe everyone should be financially literate to enable them to have a good quality of life and be financially free. I created this blog to document my investment journey as a young investor in Singapore and to create a community where people can share their various investment strategies and portfolios. I hope you enjoy what you read here and feel free to let me know your thoughts in the comment sections.

2020 Dividends

2020 Q1: $345
2020 Q2: $214
2020 Q3: $433
2020 Q4: $678

My Strategy

My strategy is to simply invest in high-quality dividend stocks and place the generated dividends in a high-interest rate savings account and repeat the cycle. It can be summarized in a simple positive feedback loop shown below:

My Goal

My ultimate goal is to create a high-quality dividend portfolio that consistently generates $120k/year at a 5% return in 20 years. I estimate that I would require a portfolio value of at least $2.5 million SGD to achieve this return.

  1. Hi! Would you mind sharing what price you entered MIT at? I've been keeping KDCREIT, MIT, MLT and Parkway Life in my watchlist, but the prices have always been elusive. Just hoping for a dividend yield in the mid 4s-5% on each stock. Am hoping for another drop like that of late March.

    1. Hi!

I was very fortunate and bought MIT at $2.43 per share last October. My capital appreciation for MIT is now +27% due to its share price increasing to $3.10. Those 4 REITs you mentioned are solid stable REITs but I feel that they are overvalued in the market currently. You are definitely right in waiting for the share prices to drop as their dividend yield is currently low due to their high share price.

      Cheers!

    2. Thanks for the reply! You know the market always rewards investors who buy into stuff before they're cool. In hindsight I wish I had picked up those REITs in 2016, when I started my SG portfolio. But oh well, I got Ascendas REIT at $2.20, so win some, lose some!
